Windows Mobile 6.5

Ok so until I get my palm Pre I'm still stuck on my HTC Touch pro. I've finally gotten around to getting WM 6.5 on it but was wondering if anyone had found any applications that make it a bit more useful. Right now WM is really really lagging behind Android, the IPhone, and now WebOS. Any suggestions from anyone?

There isn't really too much that can be done.... WM rarely releases any updates, usually once they have it on the phone and its been shipped... thats it..

I remember reading about how android could work on other devices.. perhaps you can put it on that?

Thanks... Yep Andriod is already in the process of being put up but it still is missing a lot... like the ability to hear the phone call

Well technically I could make calls

and actually I would be able to talk just not hear a response... I guess that could be useful in the scenarios where I need to broadcast needing help and not needing a response. Or I could use the phone as a listening device and drop it somewhere to listen in a someone...

I am sure WM 6.5 is just built on top of WM 6.1 with changes in User Interfaces that is targetting TOUCH as available in iPhone, Pre, Android etc. WM will become extinct if WM 7 fails to impress people beating the iPhones..

Lets see what is there on the cards for WM 7.

I had the original htc touch for 18 months, only 1 rom update was ever released in that time and I found that other devices the same age with better support (iphone) stayed current and the owners were able to keep longer
There's no money for microsoft in giving monthly updates to wm

if you've got extra time, google search BuildOS. Its a PPCKitchen product. Freeware that will let you build your own wm6.5 rom for htc vogue, touchpro, diamond, etc. Just not for touch2, magic, or dream. Very cool things in there, its worth looking at to play around with
