Question Palm Pre Ring Tones

OK , is been quiet a lot time that Im enjoy it this Toy .
But Im curious , The Factory of the Palm , included a small selections of Ring Tones.
Since new phones are available , new selections are too , technology bring more variety and selections of ring tones , some are very impressive and others are basically simple.
As I review my Palm Pre Ring Tones , I just could fine a small selection and also , they are no quiet good enough to my personal satisfaction.
I really would like to see more variety in my Phone.
Now , the question is :
Is there or will be available a new version for OS that included more variety of Ring Tones ??.
Thanks for any answer.

you can use any mp3 file as a ringtone. Use an mp3 trimmer to select your favourite parts of your favourite songs and make your own ringtones

Yep. Any file in your music library can be used as a ring tone. It's very handy.

you could pick out the specific section of the song you wanted to use as a ringtone and save it as a separate file with a program called mp3 trimmer. It is difficult to find a freeware version of this program, let alone one that works. The htc touch(vogue) had a good mp3 trimmer built in. I haven't seen such a program for the pre yet. I should post a request on precentral for a homebrew developer to make one! I would if I had the time to learn how to do programming bit I just don't have the patience

If you use iTunes you can pick your song and right click and press "Create AAC Version." Then right click on the new version you have created and press "Get Info." Click on "Options" and pick where you want the ringtone to start and stop(it should be about 30 seconds long). You can find it in the itunes music folder under the artist of the original song. Hope that helps if some of you prefer itunes and dont want to pay $1 USA or i dont know how much Canadian.
