Default 2 batteries in parallel

I have a couple of Centro batteries.

I would seem that the centro batteries are identical to the pre battery.

I was wondering if I could wire 2 or more batteries in parallel to get more battery life.

I obviously would have to leave the back off or cut a hole in it or something. not really worried about the back.
just need to know if and how I would wire it.

I know about wiring the positive to positive and negative to negative. what I'm wondering about is the third contact on the battery.

Thank you in advance.

going back to my Grade 13 physics class it should be ok as long as you dont cross anything or wire in series.... if you affect your voltage bye bye palm...

ok.. from what I understand.

the third contact is to a thermistor. to monitor battery temp i'm assuming.

so I'm guessing I don't have to wire the 2 together. just need to have one connected to the phone to read the temp.

so I'm looking at this basically..

(batt 1) + > (batt 2) + > (phone) +
(batt 1) - > (batt 2) - > (phone) -
(batt 1) thermistor > (phone) 3rd contact

can anyone confirm if this should work? or warm me if I'm making a big mistake.

I will test voltages and everything first ofcourse. and will try the new battery in my old Centro first. (don't wanna ruin my Pre first) : )
